Six potential interventions for implementation in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area were identified based on available evidence on effectiveness, feasibility, and cost: (i) clean air rooms; (ii) dust-free bed nets; purifiers; (iii) masking; (iv) clean cooking; (v) green screens, and (vi) metropolitan air purifier.
Short-term interventions can provide relief but have limited impact on reducing pollutants from the source. Therefore, it is essential to also prioritise source-reducing interventions that yield sustained environmental, health, and economic benefits.
Implementing a comprehensive set of synergistic interventions is likely to yield better outcomes than focusing on individual interventions in isolation.
