Assessing the feasibility and appropriateness of using PET/CT in Thailand (in Thai language)
About Project
Content
This study aims to assess both the cost and the appropriate medical indications of using Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT) under the Thai setting. It also estimates the potential need and supply to meet the need of PET-CT within the next five years. A systematic review and meta-analysis of literature published in the PubMed databasewas used to identify whether, and under which medical conditions, PET-CT was superior to other alternative technology. The micro-costing technique was used to estimate the unit cost and cost function at Siriraj hospital. Lastly, the number PET-CT and relevant human resources were estimated to guide the future investment and distribution of PET-CT in Thailand.
