Chris is from the United Kingdom and joined the HITAP International Unit (HIU) in November 2019 through the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellowship Scheme. Prior to joining HIU, Chris spent 3 years in the United Kingdom working as a health economist where constructed a range of cost-effectiveness, budget impact and disease transmission models. He has developed clinical knowledge and modelling experience for a wide range of infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Chris has a strong clinical and policy understanding of HIV, hepatitis C virus and measles care. He also has significant experience of building health economics models for NCDs, including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and a variety of cancer conditions.

Chris is keenly aware of health technology assessment (HTA) processes and developments in low-, middle- and high-income settings. Whilst at HIU, Chris has been focussed on furthering his understanding of vaccine access issues in low- and middle-income settings and participating in HIU’s capacity building and technical assistance activities.
