About Us
The Medical Innovation Development and Assessment Support (MIDAS) is a collaboration between the HITAP Foundation and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore. As one of the few teams globally specializing in early Health Technology Assessment (early HTA). We are a team of dedicated experts from different fields, from biotechnology engineers to health economists. We work closely with medical innovators to help promising technologies move forward. MIDAS serves as a bridge between the worlds of research, innovation, and policy—ensuring that promising medical technologies are not only innovative but also practical, accessible, and valuable to the health system.
Vision
Advancing medical innovation through collaboration, early HTA, and strategic guidance that strengthen healthcare systems and innovation ecosystem.
Scope of Work
We focus on early Health Technology Assessment (early HTA), a process that evaluates the potential value of health innovations before they reach the market or clinical practice. Our goal is to support innovators and decision-makers by providing the evidence needed to develop effective, affordable, and scalable medical technologies that fit the needs of the healthcare system.
Our work includes:
Prioritising disease areas and promising health innovations
We identify high-priority health needs and gaps in the healthcare system and explore medical innovation trends through horizon scanning and stakeholder consultations to ensure that innovations align with public health priorities.
Identifying target product profile (TPP) and value propositions
We help define the desired characteristics of health technologies and value propositions to guide innovators to develop innovations that meet the real-world needs.
Providing early HTA services for innovators
We offer tailored support including cost-effectiveness modelling, target product profile development, health system impact analysis, and value proposition to strengthen product development and improve chances of adoption in the healthcare system in the future.
Capacity building for early HTA
We empower individuals and organizations with the necessary skills and tools to effectively navigate the complex landscape of medical innovation through training and workshops.
