About Project

Content
This study is a part of the research in “Research for development of health benefit package under universal coverage scheme”. This study aims to estimate social costs of health impact of people living inside and around industrial areas who risked acute myeloid leukemia (AML), in cases whereby AML was caused by benzene exposure. The result points out that the numbers of AML patients, who faced with benzene exposure , are continuous increase and puts a burden on health and expenditures of the health system, especially the Universal Coverage Scheme. The expenditures are enormous and it is more likely to increase in the future. Finally, the recommendations on policy for health care in the risk group of people living inside and around the industrial area have been proposed to the National Health Security Office.
